Have cruised with you several times, usually all goes well, but this last one on the Statendam out of Vancouver in October was a disaster with dreadful weather and seas the first few days, and the ship with no heat or air conditioning in one whole section and nothing to be done. I wrote a letter about this - no reply - was the R&M budget exceeded already? Were there no replacement parts on board? Once we got into California and south is was stiffling hot in the cabin.
Our last stop before disembarking in Ft. Lauderdale was at Half Moon Cay. There was a mailbox in one of their shops there (H.A. owns the island and everything on it.) I had postcards written in other ports and in that port, bought stamps and asked if the mail was taken ashore for mailing every time a ship was in port. The clerk said absolutely yes. So on approximately November 11th I mailed several cards, with correct postage for Canada, and they arrived at all destinations just this past week.

My husband and I were MOST disappointed with our last Holland America cruise. We were celebrating our 9th wedding anniversary on their 14 day Southern Caribbean cruise and sailed on the Maasdam. This is an aging ship with many problems. Repairmen were constantly repairing something, painting something, etc., and were highly visible. The WORST experience of all was in our "upgrade"( without our asking for it, and our being placed on the Verandah deck where we unable to see the water as we would've done with our Main deck asked-for and booked cabin). This was room 382, located directly across the hall from the cabin cleaner's supply closet and ice machine (which constantly was being repaired) so that we heard voices and doors slamming at all hours. This cabin is also located directly below the galley and bakery. VERY LOUD noises came from above us at all times, abating only between approximately 2 AM and 4 AM when they had finished for the night and when they began again for the next d
